Amberhold

For food and drink manufacturers

Plant and utilities checks, recorded on every shift.

Food and drink sites depend on refrigeration, boilers, compressed air and effluent treatment, checked every shift by people who also have a line to run. Amberhold puts those rounds on a phone and keeps the record: who checked what, when, against which limit, and what they found.

Tell us what you check and we send a short recording of a similar round, walked on our fictional demonstration plant. No meeting needed. Or send one blank check sheet and we rebuild it free.

Know what was checked. See what was found. Retrieve the evidence.

The limit at the time

Each reading is kept with the limit that applied when it was taken. Change a limit next year and last year's readings still show what they were judged against.

What was found

A reading beyond your action limit is flagged as it is entered and listed under Needs attention until someone with that permission records a decision on it.

Nothing rewritten

A correction adds an entry. The earlier reading stays, attributed and marked as superseded.

Missed checks stay visible

A missed round stays on the board as overdue until it is completed late or acknowledged with a reason.

Temporary controls

When something is out of action, such as a fire system, a bund or a machine, declare it as a temporary control, with a reason. A check is scheduled each shift while it stays in place, and it is cleared with a reason. Nothing expires on its own.

Any day, retrieved

Open any finished round later and see what was recorded, in the words, units and limits that applied on the day. Export your records whenever you want.

Straight talk

Amberhold is not a HACCP, quality or traceability system, and it does not certify anything for a BRCGS or customer audit. Your food safety plan decides what is monitored and what happens next. Amberhold records the routine checks you put on it, from plant and utilities to temperatures and hygiene rounds, and keeps them retrievable.

It does not replace statutory examinations under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, where they apply. Not every system is in scope: refrigeration systems of 25 kW or less, for example, are outside them. Those examinations stay with your competent person; Amberhold holds the routine operator checks.

Questions we actually get asked

Is this a HACCP or food safety system?
No. It records routine checks and keeps them. If you put a check from your food safety plan on a round, your plan still decides the limit, the frequency and the corrective action.
Does it work with Microsoft 365?
Yes. Staff can sign in with their Microsoft accounts (Entra ID), and readings can be taken into Excel or Power BI, or exported as CSV.
What does it cost?
A monthly subscription per operating unit, never per user, with no long contract. For most customers an operating unit is one site; a larger facility can start with one plant or area. Founding Sites: no setup fee and £350 a month per operating unit, stop any month; or a fixed three-month pilot for £950.
